Hello everyone.
I’m here to present my project currently available on Facebook.

Design Your Home is an application that allows anyone, experienced or not, to furnish their dream home in a simple and fast way. Any company restructuring or construction could pay a 3D modeler to create a project and its render in 3D even paying big bucks and with a very long time. From today, with Design Your Home will be possible in a few minutes, and anyone can do it without relying on third.

After choosing a house layout you can insert objects, furniture, chairs, shelves, beds and more in any position and rotation and for each object you can customize its colors and materials with which you can create millions of combinations. You can of course change the floor of every room and every single wall of each room. You can choose between “woods”, “tiles”, “solid colors”, “tissues”, etc …

After we are satisfied with our work we can photograph our home from every point of view and publish the picture in a public gallery (where anyone can see our photos) or keep them for us. Obviously you can share your photos on facebook directly from the application.

Currently there are 3 layout of houses:

  • A single room

  • An avarage sized house

  • A big house

While dozens of objects are available in the following categories:

  • Supplies (food, furniture, etc.)
  • Sofas
  • Chairs
  • Beds
  • Tables
  • Shelves
  • Furniture for the bathroom
  • Other (TV, lamps, etc.)

The application is on facebook in alpha version and uses Asset Bundles for upgrade packages of objects, then the object library will be updated very frequently.

The application is complete and running, but obviously other functionality must be added. My to-do list is currently:

  • Add other items to the library (vases, paintings, carpets, etc.)
  • Ability to add walls and dividers
  • Various fixes and improvements

Sure, but my computer is not really good. Just the Ambient Occlusion reduce a lot my fps… but i think i will follow your suggestion.
