1.7 suddenly freezing

I’m working with Unity 1.7 for iphone and I’m encountering freezes within the editor while play-testing my game in places that I never had freezing before. Plus, it appears to be getting worse as the day goes on.

Last week, I could play through the game within the editor and didn’t notice these issues.

Today, when I am switching between scenes within the game, Unity appears to freeze. It doesn’t respond to touch, the gameobject within the scene disappear when I click on them. If I stop the scene from playing, then every gameobject I click on does not update within the inspector. I have to restart Unity to clear out this frozen state. Restarting the computer does not help.

This is occurring on me within repeatable circumstances and on multiple computers. The same is occurring with projects that I created 2 weeks ago.

Any suggestions on how to get around this?

possible theories:

  • licensing engine/site is not behaving correctly
  • I installed unity 3.0 last week and something is screwing with 1.7

If it’s continued behavior use the bug reporter inside Unity.

We installed 3.0 and now 1.7 has freezing issues- can someone recommend a solution so they can co-exist in peace?
