1 Hour Level Design: Wooden House by River (Time-Elapsed)

Hello there!

I’ve decided to start a new series on YouTube, where I either get suggestions by you guys or just come up with something in my mind, then make it happen in a 3D world in Unity. Then I’ll post time-elapsed videos of me building those maps to YouTube.

Here is my first one:

Please let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions of what I should build!

Looks good and nice work with the image effects, next maybe make a snowy landscape or snowy mountains?

Thanks alot, I’ll probably do something like that!

My interior video had copyright issues (song), and due to that I got a lot of requests to reupload that video with a different song so that it would become available on mobile devices. Hope you enjoy

Here is my latest video - if you got any feedback please do let me know!

Really good stuff, are you baking any of the lighting especially for the interiors?

Thank you!
I am always using realtime lightning and reflections - which is another reason to why my scenes can lag a bit on my gorgeous GTX 650 :stuck_out_tongue:

haha good one, well I suppose you don’t really need any tips, but if I’d maybe experiment with baked lighting, I noticed your scene looks somewhat similar to an interior I’m iterating on (particularly the bed). I found baked lighting pushes it up a notch in terms of realism. If you are going for that you’ll want to ensure the poly’s are considerably reduced to import into unity otherwise it crashes on generate uvmaps. (in blender you can use the decimate modifier)

What software are you using for modelling? blender max maya modo?

Also it is really interesting how you iterate on the interior wall structure inside unity, I’d never thought to do that, I just do it all inside my 3d modelling program.

Currently I’m not into modelling, although I intend to make a return to that soon!
