10.5.2 - "Leopard Graphics Update"

After updating to 10.5.2, Software Update shows an additional “Leopard Graphics Update.”

Any improvements of interest to gamers and Unity folks? Less miserable X3100 drivers by any chance?

Thanks, Morgan! I didn’t know 10.5.2 was out till I read your post

Old news! :stuck_out_tongue:

But seriously, the issues with the X3100 that UT had been mentioning were the first thing I thought of when I saw that. It would be nice to see what that thing was actually capable of. It at least allows more memory to be dedicated to graphics than the low-end iMac and MacBook Pro do …no idea if that can amount to anything useful.

Yes! updates the new 8800 card

Ever since downloading the new 10.5.2 and graphics update my MacBook Pro has the worst jittery performance. Just dragging around a finder windows jerks across the screen and Unity performance is horrible. Am I the only one this update has negatively impacted?

Strange… after installing 10.5.2 and the Graphics update, my issues with Unity i had unter 1.5.0 and 1.5.1 are completely gone…

I am using a G5 Dual Processors 2.5 mHz and a GForce 6800 Ultra

Seems to be better tonight so I’m holding out hope it was just a weird deal last night following the update. I did find quite a few people on the Apple support forums this afternoon running into the same issues as me. Some went as far as reinstalling Leopard which I’m not going to do. I was very happy to find that tonight I’m getting better performance.

Sometimes it helps to load the full installer of an update from the apple-website instead of using the update-service wich delivers a cut-down version.

I had that. Thankfully, it went away after a restart (although I also pulled out my USB TV device - not sure if that was in any way connected).
