Thanks for hosting the files. We do not mind at all. In fact we would love to have more people host and upload the files elsewhere. Does anyone have any ideas as to other forums for indie developers that we could announce this on?
Depends on whether these assets can be used with non-Unity projects. If yes, then you can find a greeaaaat deal of sites forums that wouldn’t mind putting a link to one of download mirrors.
@feilyne: Yes these models can be use in any application. Please feel free to use them in any manner you like. I am not sure exactly which programs each file was created in as there were several contributors and they only had to commit a .obj file.
@Chilton: You can use these models in anything you would like, indie or commercial. All we ask is that you give Digital Roar some credit somewhere as to the originators of these models. There is no need for monetary compensation, but we would love for you to link our sites (www.digitalroar.net) and (www.ascensionwar.com) to help promote our future projects.
What is this .dts file? I can not import them into my game!! Do I need to convert the files or what? I need a tent in my game but it will not import. How can I convert this file to fbx or whatever
@jemerill: afaik, dts is the file format for Torque Game Engine’s 3d models. The only importer I found for it is Shaper (http://inversesoftware.com.au/Shaper/index.php), it can then export to MilkShape 3D ASCII so I guess from there you can import it to your favorite modeling program that Unity can support (Blender, for example, can import MilkShape ASCII).
Sorry about the .dts format, but some of our prop files were only backed up in that format because we were using torque at the start of this project. We have since seen the light lol.
Would it be beneficial and or even possible to put these assets in the new Asset Store? If so I may make the effort to do so. All assets would of course remain free and free to use.
