1990s Oddworld Inspired Camera System

Hello,

I’m making an 1990s Oddworld-Inspired 2.5d platformer and I am struggling to set up a camera that allows for gameplay to take place in both the background and foreground whilst maintaining a perspective look.


My goal is to create something that emulates this type of camera whilst being able to have the red line be the foreground gameplay space, and the orange line be the background gameplay space.




My current camera setup includes 2 cameras, 1 perspective and 1 orthographic, as I need the background areas to be the same length as the foreground areas to allow for a “flip screen” screen transition though the level like in the original Oddworld games, however I also want to be able to visually link the foreground and background so that I dont have to resize background objects to half scale.

If anyone has any potential solution for this it’d be very much appreciated.
