Starting out a new game for this month’s #1GAM.
This month’s #1GAM game was requested by Maurice. So, this goes to him.
And special thanks to Alex to expose the wheel collider properties for Playmaker in ver 1.5. Yes, this would be another starter kit built entirely with Playmaker.
i think you need to fix the center of mass , getting stuck in sidewalk is killing me too, maybe you should add a physic mat so when the car hit the sidewalk it will bouce back.
Anyways i like the idea , keep it up.
Nice game! And the problem about getting stuck in the sidewalk, you could make walls and turn off the mesh render. Then you have a invisible wall :-)! Nice game! At the firsy webplayer i thought the controls was a little bit hard to control (You turned to the sides really fast) But now that i see what you are trying to make the controls are better :-)! Good work!
Now, this being a city populated with people as well as vehicles which are characters themselves (like pixar’s cars). The city is metropolitan and really is a maze to solve. The city have various types of vehicles, commercial, private, utility etc. The idea is to have different type of gameplays for each type of vehicles according to their purpose.
For example :
Firetrucks can have time/milestone driven gameplay of assisting firefighters in addressing fires/emergencies in various part of the city.
Dozers can compete on moving rubble. time driven + maneuver the blade.
Trucks try to keep up with the delivery milestones throughout the city.
Ambulances addressing medical emergencies, will you drive through opposite lane to reach a patient to hospital?
Police cars chases burglars throughout the city. Classic police chase race.
Burglars get’s chased by police.
Taxis scores by navigating through the city maze and reaching passengers on time. (@ Maurice : kinda like crazy taxi!)
more ideas please??
But I’m not going to do any of the above for now.
For this month, it’d be two neighbors in a friendly race trying to reach office/destination earlier than the other and win a bet. Sounds fun?
I was just about to say “man didn’t you learn anything” until I read the line above “8.”
Sounds cool
I kinda digg the control mechanics so far. I’m ultrapissed when I hit the sidewalk since it takes so long to gain speed again, but it always feels like I could have done better with hitting the right curve angle and whatnot.
You could at least gimme a “yay, you won, when I reach it first”
Btw, hitting a sidewalk sideways, e.g. sliding along should not make me stop so harshly. More like slowly taking my speed away while I touch it ?
Get them gruesome obstacles, don’t give them enough waypoints to navigate and make a mini game out of it! Cruel!
Well, in this game you can’t really drive anything. All you can do is bet on the AI players and win or lose. So, which of your car reached the finish line? BTW the green cubes are waypoints.
Hello Tiny, another twist on the racing game ; ) , when i try the game the cars get stuck every time so this needs some polish.
Will you make an option that we can drive the car ourselves in the city, some kind of free drive mode ?
I like to see the final result with the art and everything.
I have bought your packages at the asset store and the documentation is very good and de FSM’s are self explaining.
I am very curious what you come up next month, keep up the good work.
Of course game is about FREE driving! And racing. Of course you’ll be in control.
I’m sorry if this build is somewhat misleading. This is a different direction. Only an intermediate build with AI characters only, to test the AI logic. Thought of making a game out of it. Will return to the original game play in the next build.
The car still needs work. Little weight and suspension effect. And the AI needs to be little streamlined. Also got to test them in a race track out of the city. Lots of work still left and next month is almost here!
Thanks a lot for supporting me as I continue this journey. Really appreciate all of you for buying the kits. I hope you find the logic and the codes useful for your development. Feel free to ask me anything about the kits.
My red bet was stuck on a sidewalk in a weird angle and the blue one as well just when I was winning my bet !!
And it’s such a tease to not get to play these cars myself, yet
Gogogogogo !
