2.1 shader replacement on a mirror

The depth of field script is an awesome new feature that will allow us to give a more “cinematographic” aspect to our scenes. Just wondering : is there an easy way to use it for creating a progressive blur in a mirror plane ? Thinking of the reflecting floor effect ala Front Row, which would be very useful for product presentations.

isn’t the front row effect a simple alpha gradient effect.
Haven’t seen any blur there on my system here all crisp till its vanishing, perhaps the blur results on weaker hardware from enforced mipmapping?

Interesting problem (although I’m pretty sure the Front Row effect doesn’t use blur).

But the interesting bit is if you could use shader replacement in a render texture… Aras?

Of course you’re both right about Front Row - it sure is more something like a fog effect - but I haven’t been able to emulate this type of reflexion up to now, and was looking for an alternative. For the moment, all I get when dragging the DOF script to a mirror plane’s camera is a fully blurred scene. Have tried tweaking the values exposed by the script, with no result so far.
