2.5D Texture help

I’m trying to make a 2.5d game ambient but I’m stuck on terrain. About days searching for tutorials and plugins to do that I have no ideia how to make it. I’m new to Unity engine but I’m programmer for Web Applications including C#(that’s the language game’s using).

That’s how far I came for now:

For some examples of what I want, look for Soldat(screenshot) and Metal Slug(screenshot). Note that I want some more detailed and bigger than Soldat, but with material under the floor(ground) what Metal Slug doens’t have.

If there’s some plugin for that purpose, please let me know, but it have to be free. Any help will be very appreciate!

you shouldn’t use the unity inbuilt terrain you should make the levels in blender and have a area were the character will collide and then have a layered effect to make the dirt using flat planes or you could make them 3d so like this. (background- character collide area-front detail which goes a head of the collide area). The inbuilt terrain editor makes games look flat and low quality unfortunately im making a2.5D game like deadlight and im opting for external building the level it gives you more control and allows you to get the look you want. if you are confused just ask .
