2.6.1 Console Window Lockup After Installing U3

Every since I installed Unity 3.0.0b2 last week, the console window in version 2.6.1 is locked up when I try to scroll through log messages. Nothing on the console window responds (not the scrollbar, the page up/down arrows, or any of the configuration buttons along the top). The only things that respond are the maximize/minimize/close buttons.

Minimizing and maximizing do hide and show the window, but do not bring it back to life.

However, if I hit the fullscreen button it suddenly comes back to life, and I can then use it fullscreen, or shrink the window down to a smaller size and still have it work.

Nothing else on my machine has changed in the last week, except for installing Unity 3.0.0b2. I can’t figure out though how 3.0.0b2 could corrupt 2.6.1, since I installed to different locations.

I am running Mac OSX Snow Leopard.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

A few more facts:

  • If I leave the console window “fullscreen” all the time, it never locks up on me. It is only when the window is less than full size.

  • It doesn’t lockup while in play mode. Only when in normal edit mode.

  • If I scroll through the contents of the window during play mode, it will NOT lockup when play mode is exited.

The main editor GUI locks up sometimes also. When it gets in this mode, I can’t scroll the hierarchy view or select objects in the view. Minimizing and maximizing the editor seems to break it free.

Also I have had trouble with the Build GUI locking up as well.

I think I need to reinstall 2.6.1.
