Hi guys, my name is David. Im 12 years old. And I would like to share my first completed prototype!
I’ve been working on a lot of unity projects and I haven’t finished most of them, so you could say they were for my learning curve of unity. But then I thought simple and this is what I managed to come up with in 2 days!
This has been made all entirely by me, everything has been coded, modeled, and made by me No kits were used, all from scratch.
Objective : Get the highest score possible, and watch out for the explosions.
Screens:
Game - The prototype won’t have highscores or options but its just a prototype
you can just share your highscore if you want. There are some known bugs but ill take care of them, and again its just a prototype.
Leave Feedback please, and tell me if its too hard, too fast, too much, too easy, don’t be afraid that what you say will hurt me. It won’t I would like to know your guys opinions
Yes I am! There is some pretty good things happening underfoot on the thread.
And here is screenshot of game:
The game is called Knuckle Iron. It is a fighting game that bares similarity to Super Smash Bros.except gameplay is done on a 3D plane. this game also pulls control schemes and mechanics from several other games too, as i have realized while developing it.
and BTW, if you are going to use IndieEffects, the next version coming, unfortunately, will be Unity 4.5 only, as I am upgrading my installation today for the new shader compilation. and the current version is partially broken in places…
I too am working on a game as well but I stopped it so I can make something that I can finish, so Im taking a 1 day break before I officially work on it. I revamped everything in the game so technically the official production day of my game would be tomorrow. I will not showcase it yet until I have fully completed the AI and the player mechanics.
Heres a screen of it
its of course a wip and a test level so I can get the main things down like AI and player and etc down before I work on the story
Anyways thanks for the feedback. And thats enough showing off for me
The second screen will be a mobile game soon, but I’m aiming for Mac, Pc, Linux (Mabye), and possibly mobile I’m not sure.
My father actually bought me unity pro because I showed him I can get something done and because of my skills. And he wanted me to keep getting better and of course finish the game I’m working on.
Anyways thanks, now back to the topic is anyone else gonna leave feedback? :?
Lucky you. I’m 16 and it looks like I have no choice but to continue with my shitty laptop and the free version of unity. India isn’t really a land of prosperity and opportunities, so guess I’ll have to earn my way through. Not giving up though.
Yes, Frosty, there are a lot of people in the same boat as us.
One of my friends has a game in development too, and is making slow and steady progress…
And your dad must be someone who believes anything is possible. you keep that motto in your head, your head messes with Unity free like mine did… I also got reflective water working in free using the same methods IndieEffects uses.
@zDemonhunter99: Same here. I do see one advantage of having a crappy laptop, and that is room for optimization. a lot of my projects run really smooth, even if I am using ReadPixels every frame with my indieEffects pack. Also means I can then see how smooth it looks on the TAFE computers afterwards. (the PCs at my TAFE college are Intel Xeon/nVIDIA Quattro monsters!)
