2.x app needs update to remain on AppStore?

Ive got a couple of 2.x apps (not Unity-apps, though) that has been on the AppStore for over a year.

They all work fine on 4.0.

Im a bit confounded by this statement by Apple:

“[…] the App Store will no longer support applications that target iOS 2.x.”

(iOS 18 - Apple Developer)

Does this mean that I have to rebuild my apps with the 4.0 sdk (changing nothing, just a new export) in order for them to remain on the appstore?

I thik it only applies to updates and new releases.

you can no longer submit new ones though the old ones will likely all vanish from the store too so those who have it can continue using it, but you will not get any new sales etc

I have the same question. Can we just make an update that targets a more recent iOS or is it against the rules to change the iOS target between updates?

should be no problem especially in a case where we talk about an out of support os like OS2
