2018 beta, Package manager, services, asset store for Unity ads

We’re trying to upgrade a project that has been in 5.6 for a long while into the 2018 b13 version to test out updating our game to a newer Unity version.

However, I started running into errors with Unity ads. I was able to fix most, but it doesn’t seem to find the
UnityEngine.Advertisements, so ShowOptions and Advertisement classes aren’t working.

In 5.6 we had the Service ads turned off and had downloaded the newest version off the asset store. In 2018 there is the package manager as well now.

The package manager claimed we had ads installed and there was an update. So I let it update. No luck. I tried turning on the service. No luck. I uninstalled from the pacakage manager and tried to use the service without luck.

I tried to download from the store, but I encountered the error that was posted somewhere else where access was denied.

It may be that same error that is keeping things from working properly for me to begin with, but I’m a bit confused on which one we’re suppose to use normally. With three possible solutions to install from, what is what?

Appreciate any insight on this. We’re trying to get this tested so all the kinks are worked out before 2018.1 release is out this month, as we are trying to get it up and running quickly into the newest Unity version.

Edit: Overlooked this post Issues with Ads from Services window? Missing assemblies? - look here

That is helpful, but not sure why package manager is still throwing errors for me when I install ads through it.

Hi,

Yes, unfortunately we had a late fix to 2018.1, so you’ll have to wait for the final 2018.1 release for this. I did publish my hobby game (‎2D Jungle Runner on the App Store) to app store this weekend using Unity 2018.1.0f2 and Ads SDK 2.2.1 asset store package (which got released today), so we have verified that 2018.1 will work with ads, ofc.
