We were told that functionally it’s still there, just hidden by a limitation in UIT.
Is it on the issue tracker already?
If not, did you file a bug report?
Yep it’s on the tracker. Was supposed to be fixed by release time.
Could you share the link? I cannot find it
I added to the original post for convenience.
This is a particularly bad regression for editor usability.
However. I remembered noticing a new setting in Project Settings… I wondered if it’d restore this…
Go to Project Settings-> Editor, and scroll down to Inspector. Check the ‘Use IMGUI Default Inspector’. Now Unity will draw the editor inspectors using the legacy GUI. Including reallowing this feature.
I just hope posting this doesn’t promote Unity to ignore properly fixing it. Really needs addressed within the next releases.
Wow - it works! Thanks for the great tip / hopefully-temporary workaround!
Nice temp solution! Thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately for Unity 2023.1.b5 this work around doesn’t work anymore!
you got me worried for a second
Is it working? I wonder why it is not for me… weird…
Works fine here.
Darn it that must be it
Using 2023.1.b6, it still is not working… You can see that the script field is disabled even with Use IMGUI Default Inspector option, and debug inspector option is turned on of course…
and on a new project?
New project? No. Upgrading from b4 to b5 and b6. The point is that b4 works…
