Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to switch objects between rendering in full stereoscopic and in 2D.
I saw there is a parameter on the Camera class called stereoMirrorMode which would be ideal for our uses if it worked as intended. As I understand it, if this is set - the camera should render the image once into both eyes. It only seems to render it to the left eye.
If this worked, presumably you could setup 2 cameras with different culling masks - one with stereoMirrorMode enabled and one disabled, which would allow you to toggle objects steroscopically.
Has anyone got this working at all? I can’t see any documentation about stereoMirrorMode anywhere on the web.
Thanks.
If Mirror is enabled, the RenderTexure created by the left eye will be used for both the left eye and the right eye in the HMD. What you are talking about sounds like rendering to each camera separately. This is available with the patch that was released today. (5.1.2p1) However there is a bug with this build that actually turns all cameras to non-stereoscopic. So you can render to the eyes separately, but there is no separation between the cameras due to the bug.
Hi Ed. What you say if Mirror is enabled sounds correct but it’s only rendering in the left eye. The right eye is black ie. Not rendering the same image to both eyes.
Are you observing it only in the left eye on PC / DK2 ?
Thats correct on PC / DK2. I’ve added a bug about it with more details and a test case here:
