2D animation, mix frame by frame & rigged animation?

Hey guys,

I’m creating my first game with my friend who knows coding. I want to ask, if it is possible to mix in frame by frame animation & pined rigged animation?

I ask this because my character walked left, right but also up and down, like “the Binding of Isaac”
I think I’l have to use hand drawn animation for when he walks up and down I dont see how I’ll get away with using rigged animation since their needs to be perspective with the foot coming towards the camera and away from the camera.

I’m thinking I could maybe just animated the legs the front walk cycle and pin the rest of the limbs if thats possible?

I would love you advice.

Yes, use animation layers (little tab up top of the animator screen). Each layer can hold a different animation and end up working together smoothly.

Alternatively the hard way is to have a seperate animator for each body part.
