I’m thinking of creating a 2D fighting package. It would include AI scripts programmed in Javascript but creating a FSM. I am also thinking of including placeholder sprites, music and possible hitboxes. Of course I rather have some peoples’ thoughts before I started. Would this interest anyone?
What inspired this is Atlus’ game, Persona 4 Arena. And I was playing it and I tried Score Attack where the AI are just about broken and unfair and that I don’t see a lot of fighting games the come from Unity. And I thought it’d be a good idea.
Heh I raised the same topic in gossip not long ago. Consensus was yes its interesting, but dont expect it to be easy.
I’m going to focus on a scrolling beat-em up style attack system first (think double dragon or TMNT arcade with combos, weapons, grabs, etc). I’ve built a few of these games for clients so very confident on being able to produce a good asset in a timely fashion.
For me the fighter package will need to wait until I can get a top notch animator on board. If someone else happens to build a quality one first I probably wont bother
hello johnyA
i m really interested in this package, the animated character is not so important for me, but here is what i would pay for All the usual controls (charge move, half rolls, and combos) set up for keyboard and controller (XBox/PS3). Super Moves with chargeable meter.
any idea when it would come?
Its about 4th in line behind, attack system for sidescrollers, adventure game kit, and building game framework … i.e. its at least 6 months away, so don’t hold your breathe :s
