Seeing as everyone is creating terrain creation tools at the moment, here is mine… I’m not so far as advanced as the other folks, but I’ll be tying everything smoothly in to the 2D Platform Controller which should be cool ![]()
Recorded a voice over but my microphone was off :s … at the end I go through a list of planned features but given you can’t hear me heres a quick summary:
- Colliders (already done, just didn’t show it… might need some tweaking for ledge climb support)
- Attach platform behaviour to terrain (i.e. ice is slippery, lava burns you).
- Add objects to terrain (e.g. spikes).
- Make it also work in 2.5D
- Ability to set an angle and only apply surface if its within this angle.
- Overlays like the surface for sides and bottom.
- Runtime options for meshes (single mesh, multiple meshes, single mesh per terrain type, textures atlas, etc).
- Get some textures to show things off better!
