2d platformer Tutorial

Just a quick question because I didn’t find a solid answer, I am making an old school 2d platformer for windows phone and I wanted to make it with Unity also, is there a tut or a link to where I could port some sprites, static or animated over to unity?

There is currently no compiler for Windows Phone devices. I’m confused if you think there is one or that you want to take some assets from a tutorial for some other engine.

I want to make my game with unity if possible, I know there is nothing for windows phone with unity, I just want to everything that I have and use unity. I am using xna for windows phone, I just want to try and make it unity.

There’s a 2D gameplay tutorial in the resources. It’s a bit old, but should get you started.

I am not looking for 2.5D I am talking about sprite sheets and stuff. Thanks anyway.

The gameplay principle is the same. For sprites, check out the SpriteManager wiki entry and SM2.

I just found out about the SM2 thanks for that, I have played with the 2.5D platformer I am just trying to go old school with what I have wish unity had this already plugged in, $150 is hard to come by these days.

I have purchased SpriteManager 2 and it is very nice but I am having one issue so far and need some help, I am calling animations when I am pressing the left and right keys but the issue is he is not playing the animations when I am holding the keys, he plays the animation when I release the key and he never returns back to idle, does anyone have any suggestions? The sprite doesn’t flip when press the other keys like in XNA you have the spriteeffects.horizontal, spirte flip, something along those lines any suggestions on that?

So no one has had this issue? I have tried to use the transform.eulerangles in rotation of the sprite to make it flip but does any one have any suggestions?

Last question then since no one is having issues, but how do you get the player to animate if you are calling the animations, like playAnim();?

Well if anyone knows how to contact the guys from anbsoft, then let me know I am trying to request a refund, haven’t gotten the help that I was looking for please could someone give me the information.
