Is there 2DRenderer lit support for VFX graph? (yet?)
if not any ETA on this?
Is there 2DRenderer lit support for VFX graph? (yet?)
if not any ETA on this?
Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thinking about updating my project (using 2DRenderer) to 2021 with URP12 to make use of VFX graph, but it’d be good to know whether it works with lighting?
It is on 2021.2 https://portal.productboard.com/unity/1-unity-platform-rendering-visual-effects/c/116-urp-support-compute-capable-devices-only-2d-renderer-support
however I do not use 2D, so I have no clue if lit is supported like standard 3d light.
It does not say it supports lit mode or just unlit mode only. Sadly, I suspect that only unlit mode is supported.
It is support unlit currently.
See changelog here.
Thanks for the responses guys.
Gah, that is frustrating. Been waiting (and excited) for VFX Graph for a while now, but without “lit” support we can’t really use it for anything ![]()
I submitted a request for it on their website - if anyone else also wants to request it, click the “Submit A New Idea” card towards the bottom left section: https://portal.productboard.com/unity/1-unity-platform-rendering-visual-effects/tabs/9-visual-effect-graph
I think I have already submitted that long time ago.
Hi! In 2021.2 we added both Lit URP support and URP 2D Renderer support for the VFX Graph, however we don’t support yet 2D light in the 2D Renderer.
Any idea on eta?
We don’t have any concrete ETA at the moment, but are having conversations with the 2D team to see what will be involved in making it happen.
Any Updates regarding vfx graph support for lit mode @VladVNeykov
Hi @Robotec555 ,
To confirm, are you asking about 2D lit support, or general URP lit?
For 2D, I believe this was added in the beta for 2022.2 (link)
As for general lit particles in URP, this has been possible since 2021.2 ![]()
