2d rig animation performance issue (50 characters)

I want to make a strategy game where you can have 50 soldiers around at a same time.

I rigged and animated a 2d character (about 10 bones total). I duplicated the prefab in my scene 50 times and I play the scene. I get about 15 fps.

Is 2d animation supposed to perform that slowly?

From the post, you may want to try enabling Burst and see if it performs better for your case:
