2D sprite in a 3d environment.

I'm trying to make a game, where you're playing as a 2d sprite in a 3d environment, like Zombie estate or bitworld.

im having a bit of trouble working out how to acchieve this though, any ideas?

For your character, you'll probably want a plane with your texture applied to it. Then everything else should follow.
