2D Tutorial...

Hi,

I just wondered if there is a 2d unity tutorial? Something basic would be great (like a platformer), but not 3d like the tutorial which is in the examples.

Yeah, I did have a play about with that. However its all in 3d… I wanted 2d… I got another 2d tutorial video :slight_smile:

2D Mechanics, its $15, but it’s pretty good so far. Haven’t watched it all yet.

Just watched it all, its only 35 minutes long, but tells you step by step how to make a very basic platformer. There is a ship in the demo, but that’s just an example of how to use 3d and make it 2d. He doesn’t explain how to code, (so none of the ’ this is an IF statement’ … etc) so if you’re not very sure how to code, then could follow his instruction but then not know what it actually does. There was only one thing in there I didn’t understand, but a quick lookup sorted me out :slight_smile:

It’s a good starting block if you really don’t know what to do, like me :slight_smile: so now I can make something :slight_smile: If you want instant results then maybe gamesalad might be more for you, I built something similar to that in under 10 minutes… however it lacks any advanced stuff to it I found … so now I’m back to stay with unity now I can do this :slight_smile:
