I just opened new project in 2022.3.12f1 (LTS) and compiled the exe with default scene and submitted the exe to VT.
Is this normal?

Tools make code run (like Unity) often cause false positive in various cases.
With that said, .exe files are often infected by harmful applications you have on your system, so checking your own computer is highly recommended.
No, Unity alone does not contain viruses, malwares or trojans.
That tells you everything you need to know about commercial virus scanners.
They are trying their best to give users the feeling that they are protecting them from something. The amount of alerting is borderline narcistic. Their heuristics is pure madness. It’s almost as if you’d pass in some binary code to ChatGPT and let her decide whether that is malicious code.
The only virus scanners you can trust these days are the ones provided by the operating system.
Any additional virus scanner installed on top is only going to make the system and the user suffer - by deeply rooting the installation into the system while also providing opportunities for malware due to their security flaws, and since the virus scanners runs on the lowest level of the OS knowledge of these security flaws are in high demand within the hacker community and intelligence agencies alike.
So if the OS antimalware system doesn’t mind and your OS is up-to-date, you’re good.
okay, i tested (compiled an exe of empty project) in virtual machine and the result is the same. i thought maybe my system was infected but not
ps i agree what you say makes sense though ive been using windows defender and malwarebytes (the latter only manually, not in background)
