Hello Unity community! As you all know finals time is among us. I have been feverishly working on my final that is due on Thursday. I went to one of the computer labs to work on my project and opened up the project on a computer that had unity 2.6 installed on it. I originally created the whole project in unity 3. As I opened the project I was greeted with a message that said something like “this project was created with an older version of unity and needs to be updated” I was hesitant at first but the download page wasn’t working and i figured that I was just going to open it and if anything was messed up I wouldn’t save anything. Was I ever wrong. It took about 20 minutes to load and when it did everything was gone. All the resources that I imported and and the terrain had vanished. I figured that it was just the version I was on. To my dismay I discovered that I was also wrong about that. I opened the project on a computer with unity 3 and it was the same. Everything was gone. I opened up the scripts and it noticed that all of my terrain data and textures were all missing. Is there any way to fix this or will I have to throw out almost a months worth of work? Thank you for any and all help!
Well, since I assume you didn’t bring the ONLY copy of your project to school, just do a standalone build from a copy of the project that didn’t go fubar.
