Hi everyone!
I love the project Idea!
I’m a 3D artist and would love to try to contribute.
Is someone at Unity currently working on 3D models ?
It’s maybe early in the project to do 3D art but 3D art take some times and i would like to start making some tests.
Can i have the first 3D model shown in the video so i can see how you want to texture the models ?
Then i will try to do some tests based on the awesome concept-art.
But this mesh (Pig) shown isn’t in github repository.
We would have to create it from scratch (From concept-art available on Codeck).
I think it’s only part of his own prototype.
To answer both, we do have people working on the 3D art, specifically on the characters and most of the environment art.
Personally, I think we could do with some help on having more environment art, and maybe additional characters. This is because the game might evolve in ways we haven’t foreseen. But that will come later.
Just a little bit of patience on the art, I’ll have news soon!
Hello Everyone!
I am also a 3D artist! I am looking forward to seeing the updates roll out and hopefully being able to contribute!
Looking forward for when you guys are ready for that stage
Hey I would like to help with environment part of things cuz I’m not that confident in other parts of the unity yet but I’m eager to learn whenever I can So is there anything I could help with?
Hey! My name is André Felipe and i’m an environment artist from brazil!
I’ve finally finished reviewing all of the available material, and I’ve got some questions, I’ve also seen the earlier topic created about this, but my questions are more direct than the broader ones asked before:
In the codecks page we have greybox activities for 3 different environments, do we also have concepts for these? I’ve seen the rough isometric concept in the google drive, will the whole game be isometric? If so, what are the references? would Super Mario 3D World be a reference?
Under 3D art in codecks we have a bunch of props to be modelled, are these ‘freehand’ or will we have concepts for those? If not, will there be a style guide or some sort of art direction? Maybe sample assets so we know what kind of workflow we’ll be using along the project? Or will that also be community-based?
Those are my main points, as I am anxious to start working but feel like we’re missing art direction for the time being, as soon as things appear more clear i’d like to start on props and foliage!
Hi André, you’re right, but let’s not despair, the game won’t be done tomorrow, let’s give some time to receive feedback.
As for the environment in general we can start from the traditional Grey boxing.
I would also like to leave a question:
These 3 environments will be separate scenes ?
In one of the cards they talk about that in The intro cut-scene these environments can be seen with the same (camera)pan-up of the island
Would also like to contribute to the project , i’m primarly a Concept Artist who works in 2D but i learned the also Belnder3D and ZBrush to a point where i want to show off those skills in good project enviroment.
I would love to work on some art in terms of environment or character design! Just let me know if you already have any ideas of what you want to be made, or if you want me to come up with something myself
I would really like to participate in the game too, I work with Maya, Zbrush and Substance Painter, so I will be happy modelling and texturing anythings you need. I like environment art as much as character so let me know what you need. It would be awesome to create cute stylized art for this project.
