I have many 3d model and textures from Unity Asset Store, commercial sites and free sites. how can i organize, view and search them? for example i have an asset from asset store. it contains both house and car models. i want to unpack it and register it to a catalog software as separate items. i will give keywords to an item like car, blue, big, low poly. when i need a car low poly i will search and find it. do you know any software that can do? that can support multiple 3d formats like fbx, obj, collada.
Can you not just do it in a Unity project? You can use tags on each asset such as car, blue, big, low poly by clicking the little blue box on the preview window. Unity 4 has an improved asset management with little image previews and better search features.

Open the model in the appropriate sw, render and save a thumbnail, and organize by folder (human, animal, plant, architecture, household, mechanical) and create an html to the folder structure.
@goat single folder structure will not be enough for me. i will add multiple tags to an asset. what i need a software like iPhoto on mac. it is for images. i need an extra feature; rendering 3d assets and generates thumbnails.
Can you then instead of create the catalogue in HTML use exif labeling to label the thumbnails you create with all the desired tags, including a path to the actual object and program needed to open it and the use iPhoto or a similar program create a catalogue for you. Can you tell iPhoto to run a command it creates from exif data extracted out of the thumbnail?
Or you could search ‘FBX cataloguer’ but I doubt there is anything.
For sound files there are dozens of catalogue programs. I use Tag Rename for many years now.
