3D Gesture recognition using accelerometer

I need to do a gesture recognizer app using the accelerometer of a mobile device.

I found the PDollar asset (Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making), that is a package with a bunch of scripts that allows you to draw a 2D figure and recognize it (and if you want, add custom figures to be recognized).

I was wondering if it could be modified to recognize 3D figures in space made by a device with the accelerometer built in, or if it is a more simple way to do that (I wasn’t able to modify the asset to my needs on my own).
