3d models turning flat in 2d scene

I’m working on a 2.5d project and am experiencing some of the models turning flat when I add them to scene, and this would be fine if it displayed appropriately in the game but for items like weapons that are attached to the players hands, they move around as a 2d sprite almost even though they are 3d models. Am i missing a setting here?

Change the camera from orthographic to perspective, I would guess.
