3D sound is unrealistic.

Either I’m missing something or the 3d sound engine is really unrealistic.

With the Pan value at 1, when standing next to a sound object on my left i ONLY get audio in the left speaker, and vice versa. This is obviously unrealistic as there would still be sound being picked up the the right ear.

Setting the Pan to around 0.8 seems to deliver realistic balance however this then means that 20% of the volume is heard at all distances! i.e i cant get the damn sound to shutup no matter how far away from it I am.

What am I missing?

Ah should I be using spread instead?

There is no sound reflection.
