3D Studio Max Material files

I’ve heard of a way to convert .mat files to a usable Texture2D as an export but you can import .max models, I guess my question is simple. Can you import .mat files from 3ds max into Unity, if so… How?

P.S I’m trying to get a realistic smoke texture for a particle effect so if you can point me to an alternative I’d be grateful!

Really when you’re talking about Unity, we’re talking about putting on a diffuse texture, perhaps a spec or transparency layer…

If you’re trying to skip the UV Mapping requirement by using procedural textures, you’re not going to get far :slight_smile:
