3d text on child object

I’m trying to change the value of my 3d text object at runtime:

   var tm = gameObject.Find("Text/TextMesh");
   tm.text = "K";

This isn’t working. The 3d text is attached to my game object - how can I access the text value of the 3d text?

var tm:TextMesh =GameObject.Find(“Text”).GetComponent(“TextMesh”);
tm.text = “K”;

I am assuming that Text is the name of the 3d text object in scene.
