3DMAX import issue

Hi Im a coder and know nothing about max im afraid. I keep asking my modeller to re-rotate models as I need them coming in with zero rotation.

The problem is he rotates them and sends them back to me , when I drop the model into Unity it creates a gameObject in the projects view that has rotation applied to it, the preview shows the mesh in the correct alignment. But when i look at the actual mesh asset attached to this game object it doesn’t have the rotation. I need the Mesh itself to be rotated. It seems like unity is being very clever but the cleverness isnt what im after ! Does anyone understand what im trying to describe ?

If im not mistaken , he can easily correct the actual transforms stored data by reseting the transform and scale of the object via the heirarchy settings in Max.

Look at your 3dsmax axis.

Modify only the pivot of your mesh to get the Y axis UP, and reimport.
