3DS Max Animation into Unity Possible?

Hi,

I have animated a box unfolding in 3DS Max using point helpers within the Skin modifier and have been unable to import it successfully into Unity.

So far I have tried exporting as fbx as per the unity manual instructions and i have tried the In2Unity plug in but neither seem to be working.

Im new to unity and am not 100% sure if it is possible to export this type of animation out of max into unity.

Any help/advice will be much appreciated

I have used helpers for animation before and they export just fine. Make sure that you have all relevant objects selected when exporting, that means the mesh itself as well as all helpers/bones. It’s best to double click on the root object so all objects in the hierarchy get selected automatically.

The max FBX exporter can be wonky at times depending on the version used, check if other users had export problems with the version you use.
