I tried to upgrade today to 4.3 but some of my projects have had a dramatic decrease in performance. I have found that any project that use a lot of render textures is effected.
Unity is also telling me that I have a dx10 card and will not run compute shaders. This is odd since in version 4.2.1 I ran computer shader’s fine so I know my card can do it.
Down graded to 4.2.2, still the same. Will have to go back 4.2.1.
On the performance issue front the above suggestions should cover it. On the recognition of your gpu capabilities front what OS are you using? That one might be a second issue related to the link here
Thanks, guys. I have been looking into it and now I am more confused than ever. I have rolled back to 4.2.2, then 4.2.1 then 4.1.5 and the problem wont go away now. Maybe Its not a Unity issue after all but I am lost to what else it could be.
I had updated the GPU drivers at the same time I upgraded Unity. I have rolled back the drivers but the problems are still there. I thought maybe I had damaged the GPU so I ran some bench marks and its coming back with the same as always.
I have deleted all of Unity preferences hoping that may help but it didnt.
Windows 7 nVidia GTX 555M.
It maybe related to that link but I would have thought that it would have gone away when rolling back Unity if that was then case.
