Anyone else facing this issue?
It happened to me a couple of times, though normally it doesn’t.

It’s frozen on me a few times already when trying to switch projects.
Dave
Same here. Is it possible you guys also have a big project?
No, it happens to me even if the project is new. Not only that, it leaves something in memory as the project itself can’t be deleted from the hard drive without getting the error “it is open in another application” even though Unity has been forced to close using task manager.

This has also been happening to me alot. In fact as I write this it just happend to me.
Happening a lot at my side as well (it’s hanging right now). At first I thought tk2D might have something to do with it, but that’s not since the tk2D author is having the same issue even when NOT using his asset.
Yep, happened couple of times.
Yep, happened to me. First time using 4.3 this morning and I can’t do anything with my project thanks to .blend files not importing properly, the model preview panel is godawful slow, and Unity won’t shut down properly when I try to quit. Well done guys, great update. Never had problems like this with a previous release.
If I just open the project and quit it without editing anything in it, it exits normal, but if I edit anything, it freezes. I don’t think it has anything to do with any extra asset because my project has +200mb and I don’t use any extra asset… Anyway this is not a major issue since the project files is not being corrupted or any stuff like that…
If you have a good repro case, please submit it as a bug. I never did because it only happened a few times, randomly, and they tend not to look at bug reports without a good repro case.

Yes it happen to me many times since the 4.3 update. This didn´t happen to me before with other Unity releases.
I didn´t saw your post, if any moderator can delete my current post:

Having the same issue closing Unity 4.3. At my place it’s the process adb.exe which runs in background for the Android builds. When I kill this process Unity shut downs correctly. Looks like Unity tries to kill that process as well with no sucess and just waits and waits and …
While I don’t really have a repo case to submit I too have noticed this.
For instance every once in awhile upon generating a new project from within an already loaded up unity it freezes, upon ctrl+alt+del and killing the process in task manager it goes away and seems to recover just fine, but however it is a bit annoying.
Likewise every once in awhile regardless of the scene complexity or the complexity of the project it will freeze upon exiting, requiring me to force end the unity process.
I noticed that one time after it froze when I restarted Unity and brought up Monoscript there were some very strange characters at the top menu area. Like a bunch of [ ] or () looking stuff except like fully connected.
So I’m guessing this Unity freezing stuff might have something to do with the new MonoScript.
I’ve also noticed that sometimes scenes are taking longer to start up in Play Mode which I thought I read in the patch notes they improved it. Seems to be the opposite to me.
So I think there are A TON of new bugs in 4.3 but none of them seem to be much more than an inconvenience having to restart Unity worst case scenario so far.
Thanks Xaron! I’ve been having the freezing issue as well when quitting, and ADB was the cause in my case as well. If I manually terminated ADB, then it quit successfully.
I can also confirm the freezes and that killing adb fixes it.
+1.
Now I was making a simple test with some objects in a new proyect, and in this case I didn´t connected the Android phone to the PC, but Unity freezed anyway when I tried to close. I went to Task manager and there was the ADB.EXE. I Stopped the process and Unity inmediately closed by itself.
I too am experiencing freezing when quitting, and ending the adb process fixes it.
same here with adb.exe
