sorry feel guilt keep print these :s.
Click on tags → new tag → +
can’t add anything to new tag name , can see cursor, can highlight default “New tag” but can’t change it.
This is very like the bug I had months ago with entering a new project box.
I’ve also noticed if I have gedit ( text editor ) open behind the new tag name dialogue even though my cursor is show flashing on the text box, the text is written to the “behind” gedit.
On further testing this is true for any editor eg mondevelop etc.

Ok found a work around, highlight “New Tag”, then cut, copy the name you want, go back to box and paste.
Please note you need to use drop downs on right click to cut and paste. You can’t use short cuts “ctrl + cv” or the top bar edit cut paste. It has to be right click context menu.
Thanks for the work around. I reported this too, and I was just about to uninstall and go back to 5.4, because that can be a show stopper for me. I use tags a lot. With this work around I should be able to keep using this and see what other bugs I can find.

the workaround sadly doesnt seem to work for me and the issue still exists ;(
