5.5 will not run on Lubuntu 5.4 will

Hi All,
I had to do a fresh lubuntu install ( 15.04 ) I went to reinstall unity ( 5.5 ) however whatever I do it won’t get past the unity splash screen. I’ve tried everything on these forums, installed every package, created every folder. Nothing. After downloading 5.5 3 times and trying 5 installs and uninstalls I thought I’d try 5.4. It runs fine. I can reproduce this over and over with install and uninstall.

What’s odder is 5.5 ran fine on my old lubuntu 15.04. It can’t be packages or directories missing as 5.4 runs?

Can anyone advise why this should be? 5.4 is pretty buggy, 5.5 ran great.

Does your fresh install support OpenGL core profile 3.2?

I’m running AMD drivers my output says “OpenGL version string: 4.4.13374 Compatibility Profile Context 15.20.1013”

Thanks it’s the drivers. The AMD drivers packaged with 15.04 don’t work with unity 5.5. You need to download the latest from the web site. Theses run, at least on first testing. Odd thing is I never updated drivers on my old build…
