I’m on 5.6 and I’ve set up a ConfigurableJoint as a sliding joint on the X axis. I have a linearLimit set. I’m using a FixedJoint with an infinite breakaway to move the sliding joint. I used the info in this post to set it up: physics - How do I configure a joint for a sliding door in Unity? - Game Development Stack Exchange
When the joint hits the limit, it gets stuck and refuses to move back the other way. What’s going on here? Are there workarounds for this?
Made a quick video of this behavior:
I also made a quick example project using VRTK, hoping to reproduce the issue: GitHub - createthis/unity_steamvr_vrtk_kinetic_scrolling: unity steamvr vrtk kinetik scrolling
However, it doesn’t happen in my example project. I can’t figure out what the difference is between the example project and my actual application project. They both used FixedJoint and they both use ConfigurableJoint.
I’ve tried approaching this problem from a few different angles. First, I tried switching from linearLimit to using collider based end stops. To my great surprise, the issue persisted. It’s like there is a force acting on the slide joint, but I can’t figure out where it’s coming from.
