So I have a 32 bit operating system, x64-based processor. I tried to get the latest version of Unity but my computer told me it will download it but I wouldn’t be able to use it. I have the 5.6.6 version of unity installed. However, when I try to download assets it doesn’t do it and tells me to send a bug report. I got a reply saying Unity no longer supports the version I have and I have to get a newer version. But I can’t get a newer version because I won’t be able to play it just download it. What can I do about this? Is there ever going to be a 32 bit version of the latest update? Could the computer be wrong and the newest version will work? (wishful I know). Please someone help me out. I’m new at all of this.
I’m afraid the 32bit version of Unity is no longer supported. There is a thread here that could interest you: How can I have Unity for Windows 32bit computers?
Apparently, if you have a 64bits based processor, you can install a 64bits Windows.
The support cycle of 5.x ended early this year. There will not be another 5.x release, and there will not be another 32 bit editor release. As already suggested, install a 64 bit OS to install a newer Unity version.
