I’ve created an editor extension that automatically changes the difficulty of a game entirely based on the way the user is playing. It’s completely customisable and could be used to create an A.I. director like in the Left 4 Dead games.
My question is, is this something that people would like to use? If so, would you pay $35 for it?
Source is definetly important. Wouldnt buy any AI related asset without the source. Theyres always some things the customer wants to tweak. If the source is included, its just a matter on how good your product is when it comes to pricing, which features, how efficient etc.
I see. I’m thinking about releasing the software for free without source as the automatic difficulty adjustment is done using a machine learning algorithm. The free product would be fairly restrictive - for those wanting source code and more freedom in game design and tweaking I have a paid product called coAdjoint Orbit.
Say you walked into a village and the people there are basically indifferent, if you say start being agressive with the villagers they become more and more agitated to the point that they are now angry with you and start attacking you, or vise versa a angry town that you help become more friendly…
This is a perfect use-case of my software Orbit. For more information take a look at the following link (takes you to a unity thread just like this one):
