A name for my game - The Lowpoly isometric sandbox RPG game

Hello everyone,

I’m new here and it’s my first post so i’m going to introduce myself a bit:

I currently work as a 3D artist in Barcelona and one year ago I decided to start developing a game on my freetime.
Now it’s something like a pre-pre-pre-alpha but it’s somehow playable and I need to find a name for it as i’m going to spend more time on it.

This game is a sandbox/rpg game where there is no main objective. You arrive with nothing in an isometric lowpoly world and you have to find a way to become rich and get knowledges that will let you do more things. By now, there is people that spawns randomly on the streets, cars that also spawn randomly and have random properties, they drive arround the map and get deformed on collisions, they stop correctly behind other cars and obstacles and of course you can enter any vehicle on the map. You can pick up weapons, kill people and explode barrels. I’m being really careful with optimization as it’s going to be a game full of particles, lights, physics… You are going to be able to buy properties like apartments, small and big houses on the countryside, business to get money, buy cars, shops where you buy stuff for your house and everything like that.
Soon i’ll show you some images.

I’ve been thinking for some simple names and easy to remember that defines the main theme of the game and I have chosen this ones. So, the question is in the poll.

“What name do you prefer?”

I can’t talk a perfect english, so i don’t know if they sound horrible or they are cool, this is why i need real opinions from english-speaking people.

Let me know your opinions!

I wouldn’t name your game after its technical features, such as referencing isometric or low poly. The Legend of Zelda sounds like a much better name than if they had gone with “Top Down Dungeon Life”.

Name it after something in its story.

But Battlefield sounds good and it can’t be simpler.
The problem is that it’s not going to have a campaing or a story and I need something easy to remember.
Maybe something more like “Breaking bad” but about getting rich.

Battlefield is a good sounding name, but it doesn’t mention anything about its art style or perspective like all your iso/poly names you’re going with. If they followed your 4 name choices they would have ended up with something like “FP PolyDesert” instead of Battlefield.

Ecogon. It’s a combination of the word “economical” with the suffix “gon”. Economical fits because you mentioned that the goal is to get rich and an alternative meaning is to “use no more of something than is necessary” which fits low poly. That just leaves “gon” which is a geometry term.

Google’s definitions in the spoilers below.

How about life of poly. Poly being the player name.

I’ll echo what Joe-Censored says about Battlefield. The name doesn’t come from technical details. it comes from the setting. And to be honest it’s a poor name, but when the series came out that was less of an issue, and by now it’s a monolith.

So your name should be related to the setting, plot/narrative, or gameplay in some way. Hopefully a combination of more than one of these.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I had been thinking in a more “story themed” name.
The main city is going to be called Isopolis, because I want sime references to the isometric view.

Do you think Isopolis Roamer sounds good?
Also, Is a " roamer" a guy or girl that wanders arround the city doing things?

I’ll probably choose a temporary name to make a devlog and see if it works. And when I have some missions (before releasing an alpha) I’ll choose the definitive one.
