Hi there guys,
I’m working on a casual game with sci-fi themes. I wanted to achieve some kind of neon look ( like a lightsaber or TRON styled thingy ), but i have no idea how to do this. Using an emissive shader sucks, so if anyone can help me with this?
That’s real helpful.
What do you want and what don’t you like about that in particular?
The key to the look is to make something white, not colored, with a colored fringe. The white implies that the color is just really bright.
what i basically mean is i didnt actually want a plain …eg. cylinder with an emissive shader in it. Is there some sort of way to create like a cookie or something like that to make it “glowy”?

I’d like to know what you mean by “cookie”, here. I only know it in this context:
sorry, i mean a halo

In general, do this, I mean.
Actually i saw those link already ( long time ago ) I dont think the “glow” camera effect would suit in what i need. IMO the Glow/Bloom effect u mentioned on the link above is meant creating environmental glows. I need something that represents a strong light, with maybe a light halo around it for the gloomy feel… maybe a shader or some sort
