a noob question: how can I test an animation clip?

I have a .blend file for animation clip. The clip contains many animations ie/ 1-10 second walk animation, 11-20 run animation. How can I play this animation clip to see what actions are inside? thank you for any help in advance

Drag the .blend into the scene and select Window>Animations. There select your animation from the dropdown at the top and press play.
