a question about rotation

can i rotate a gameobject without rotating it`s child?

You should not keep it as a child but rather set the position of the object in code, if you don’t want it to rotate.

public GameObject fauxParent;
private void Update()
{
      //fauxParent has to be set in the inspector or in code using transform.Find("").gameObject;
      transform.position = fauxParent.transform.position;
}

thanks but i solved it.
i was trying to rotate the root (pelvis) from my character without moving all rest of his body, but without “dechildrening” it because it will broke the animation.

i had to make the animation again.
