A question about the licensing terms

Hi there, folks!

I sent an e-mail a week ago to Unity sales support asking these questions and some more and up to now I haven’t recieved an answer, so I’ll just ask if you guys and girls know.

The first question is about the subscription. I’ve read somewhere that you had to buy a license per game produced. Now it seems you’re limited by revenue. So what is the correct now? Do we have to license per revenue and to have one subscriptio per game or platform developed?

Sencodly I have questions about the limit in multiplayer number of players. What is about with the limit of concurrent numbers of players in multiplayer? Is it per game? Is it aplicable only if I host games in Unity3d servers? Is it aplicable even if I host my own servers? And can I actually build games and host my own servers?

Thanks,
Scirious.

I don’t think has ever been per game. You can make as many games as you want. Personal and Plus have revenue caps (100k and 200k), if you make more than that you have to upgrade.

There are no limit on players for multiplayer. If you use unity’s service, the charges will be based on usage.

Hi zombiegorilla!

I ask because under the “Get Unity”, for each license type there is an item where it states the number o concurrent users per license type. If there is no limit for players in multiplayer what is this number about?^

Thanks again,
Scirious.

It’s a limit on concurrent users while the game is being developed. Once you go live the limit goes away and you pay per GB.

What if I want to host the game on my own servers and not use Unity’s server?

Unity’s servers are simply matchmaking and relay. If you intend to host those yourself you won’t need to pay anything.
