A quick demo with pro (that might work as a multiplayer)

EDIT>

Broken Link Fixed<

Hi All,

I just made another demo with a few pro features, Feel free to check it out.

http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~adamemery/deepwater3dLoRes.html

I built it inside the third person networking scene, in the hope that it might “just work” as a multiplayer scene…But I really dont know how networking actually works, so no warranties there…

You can switch characters with 1,2, and 3 keys.
Please check it out, (and sorry if the motion blur seems a bit much, I love the effect, but it seems to be a bit all or nothing.)

Thanks UT for the pro demo-from a user perspective, the power of Unity only really opens up when you see what pro can do. Then its really really amazing.

Happy 08!
AC

If you don’t like a project someone has posted, there are two options:

  1. Leave constructive criticism, how it could be improved, etc.
  2. STFU/GTFO.

Have a nice day.

Hello Big Daddy Long Legs. You might consider being a decent human being, or vacating the internet. Thanks!

moderator please delete this offensive pig.

Sorry Big Daddy, which game might you be referring to? I don’t seem to recall making any ball touching games. >.> Sorry though, I’m out of troll food, so I must leave this topic.

Big Daddy Long Legs has been banned (user name and IP) and I deleted his posts in this thread. Carry on folks!

ataboy! wish i had a stack of cool emoticons.

Wow, I missed all that, a bit of hate mail?

And yeah the multiplayer thingy didnt work btw.

Hey thanks for covering my back guys

Aaron

Yeah, the guy was just being rude and there was nothing worth reading. You can tell by the replies above he was well out of line in a way that won’t be tolerated.

And you’re right, we’ve got your back.

hey you’re one of the commune originals - of course we got your back.

i still haven’t tried your webby though

I like that you have made the fighting animation before the jump or sidestep animation

nice work on this Aaron

Hans

:stuck_out_tongue:

Hey Emil, if you do a search for Kaydara on turbosquid, you can find a bunch of really cool free mocap files that work nice with cheetah. Hey its great to see you on the cheetah forum too btw.

I like the whole game art pipeline except when it comes to animation. I enjoy the realism that mocap brings but I find hand keyframing a chore (especially if you want it to look good!)

Heres some hand keyframed animations(Unity 1.6.2 webby)

http://hagley.school.nz/home/c260527/CharacterAnim.html

So I hassle Martin about .bvh support from time to time.

BTW has anyone here tried the daz studio fbx exporter for converting .bvh files into .fbx? Im thinking about buying it to open up a better mocap pipeline. It would be nice to know if it works…

@HiggyB, dont ip addresses get reassigned automatically each time you connect to the internet?

Id like to know what this guy said-it seems weird to get a personal attack-my scenes not that bad. Is it? It does run quite slow but thats just the nature of realtime shadows.

Hey Hans, cheers for the comments.

So who TF was this Daddylonglegs character I wonder?

AaronC

PS Im still totally loving Unity, I scored this imac with a dodgy lcd($300). Ive added an external monitor(adapter cable ripped me another $50), and now my scripts compile 10x faster! (Still using Unity trial until I get my .ilf file sorted)The only thing is apple forgot to add a modem plug, so I still have to have the G4 running to check emails…So my studio still sounds like an airplane…

That would be one step forward one step backwards wouldnt it?

lol!

Cheers guys!
AC

All I am gonna say about the cough person that got banned is “BYE”. hahahahaha This awesome community really does not need people like that.

Ok I took your little project here for a spin. Not bad at all man, of course as I am sure you know, there is a long way to go, but alas it is a solid start. One thing I will ask . . . . request…no . . BEG FOR, is please remove that motion blur, it made me queasy … lol a little.

All in all with some more time, and some spit n shine, you will have a cool little game on your hands

I will be keeping an eye on this one. Also if this was nothing more than a test, well done it is cool.

I am hoping to get my hands on a full license of pro myself. As it has some sexy features that really do make a world of visual difference for sure. Currently though I am a proud indie license holder

Take care.

Hi Steve,

yeah this was actually a shelved demo with ridiculous motion blur that shouldve not left my hard drive

For some reason mr nasty daddylonglegs dug it up.
Nothing like a bit of controversy to get your career going though!

looking forward to using the audio I brought off you in our schools video game project…

All the best
AC

just pretend it never dropped by aaron. you probably would of broke your new imac.

Yes, in most cases IP numbers get recycled but not all. As to what he said it goes something like this:

BDLL: “I’m a jerk and going to say ridiculous and flame-baiting stuff. Look, I posted a crappy graphic showing how I feel! ”

Community: “Be nice or STFU and go away.”

BDLL: “Hey, I’m going to be a bigger jerk and keep the arguing going by telling folks they suck and by continuing to act like a total idiot!”

And so on… There was nothing constructive and it was a straight up troll looking to fire up some sort of flaming argument. Buh-bye!

dude, that was Vin Diesel!

(that was his sig, aaron)

TGIF!

sweet! tgif indeed!
