Ability to download working version of Island Demo for 3.5 would really help!

I’m a new user and have just come over from Gamestudio (Conitec). The first thing that attracted me to Unity was the Island Demo and a few very helpful Youtube videos using this demo. I found out quickly, however, after downloading the demo, that it wouldn’t run in 3.5 without tweaking. I started Googleing for fixes, found one or two in depth, dinked around for about an hour, but still wasn’t able to make it work. This is ridiculous! I then found a link to a version [Island Demo] that was fixed but the page wasn’t found. The Island Demo is such a selling point and ideal starting place for beginners, I can’t believe that Unity would not simply make a version available that would run on the new platform!
I apologize for the rant, but new users need all the help they can get. Can someone please direct me to a version of the Island Demo that will work in 3.5!? I’m impressed with Unity, but I need someone to throw me a bone here. I saw a number of oversimplistic replies to this same request, basically making the struggling new user out to be an idiot for not being able to fix the script.

hello there and welcome to the forum, i will give it a try to make it work for unity 3.5… im not guaranteeing anything so dont get your expectations high, but i will try it if i have time

it was indeed a cool starter project… i had a lot of fun using it in the past.

Thank You! I greatly appreciate you making the effort. It just seems such a waste to abandon this beautiful project and selling feature. I’m sorry if my intro to the forum was negative but the Island Demo would be such a great place to start, as you said.

Salut!

any news on this Hermes? - i believe !many! newbies would appreciate this.

many thanks

I just started and i would also love to be abel to load the island, maybe i can import my work to the island. The new place with the action figure is not fun at all =)

I found that you can just delete the error codes if you just want to play around with the terrain. You will lose the water effect of floating and also some birds i think.

Here’s a video showing how to get the demo up and running, not too bad. I also got the underwater “hue” working
