Hi all,
Im new to Unity and the community too so if this is the wrong place to post this please receive my apologies and move it to the appropiate place. I have been reading about the differences between Unity Personal and Professional but I have still got doubts about what to pick to achieve what Im pursuing. My current goal is to deploy and sell a game to a system like PSVita and it doesnt matter for me to have the Unity logo at start or other features present in Profesional edition as long as power is not limited, Im currently working alone so I dont need the team licence feature either and this being my first Unity game wont probably earn more than 100.000$ a year, but of course I hope I can earn something, I come from making Flash games and some in C++ with other libraries so Im not new to this world but as said Im new to Unity, then with all the said… can I go with Personal edition which as far as I understood is free until I get 100.000$ in benefits? sorry if my question is very silly, a friend of mine told me about this great engine and I still thank him about it, but even after seeing the licence chart I still have this doubt, thanks a lot for any help =)
There’s nothing to pick. You download Unity, that’s it. There aren’t any different versions or any decisions to make that affect development. If you make more than 100K using Unity (or if you want any of the benefits listed here), then you buy a Pro license. That doesn’t affect Unity, which stays the same regardless of which license you have. Don’t make it so complicated.

Thanks Eric5h5 for the explanation =), then there is no decission regarding what version, its a relief to know trust me, but regarding licensing as I understood I can publish and sell on any platform if I stick to Personal licensing and under 100k? a friend of mine told me it was only web based executable or PC only if I decide to go with Personal license but seeing the chart of features and what you said there is no limit about executable file in Personal license, right?
Go with what you see on the official website, not with what your dodgy friend says.

Thanks Eric =), I was living in shadows, the fact is what I saw in the official site seemed like too good to be true so even after reading that I still had that doubt, now of course all is clear, I will start developing with Unity as soon as I settle about the Playstation membership requirements
It does, doesn’t it…but it’s real!

haha yes, indeed you are quite right =)
