Hello,
I have a bit of a conundrum: I am using two separate workstations in different locations to work on a project. In general, I work on one, then commit my changes, switch my other workstation to that changeset, work on there, commit any changes, and so forth. All on a single branch.
I recently updated my Unity Editor version from 2022.3.5f1 to 2022.3.11f1. I installed the new editor on both workstations. Now one of my workstations has an uncommitted change of the file “ProjectVersion.txt” (containing the reference to the Unity editor version, obviously), which I cannot commit or undo since for unknown reason access to the path is denied. This renders that workstation essentially stuck, unable to go forwards or backwards. No other program is accessing the file (Unity/Hub is not running, etc.).
I tried:
- searching for a solution here in this forum and elsewhere online
- change permissions of the directory
- run Plastic as an adminstrator
- create a new branch to which to commit
My next step would be to disconnect from the repository entirely on my affected machine, delete all project files, then re-connect to the project and switch to the current changeset again.
Short of having to do that, is there a solution to this issue or is this a known problem of some kind?
Help is greatly appreciated!
